ABVP demands MCD chief's resignation, safety audits for PG hostels after Satya Niketan tragedy
The ABVP has demanded the resignation of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi commissioner following a recent tragedy at Satya Niketan. The student organization also called for mandatory safety audits of all paying guest accommodations in student-heavy areas across Delhi.
Thousands of students participated in a march organized by ABVP to raise awareness about safety concerns and the acute shortage of hostel facilities. The group urged Delhi University to accelerate construction of additional hostels to reduce student dependence on private accommodations.
ABVP has sought immediate action and structural safety checks on unsafe paying guest facilities housing students in the capital.
