Around 260 outsourced workers at AIIMS Bhopal face sudden job losses

Approximately 260 outsourced employees at AIIMS Bhopal face potential job losses after an outsourcing agency issued a termination list Wednesday night. Housekeeping staff, sanitary attendants, and ward boys gathered outside the hospital's outpatient department to protest the sudden decision.
Workers claimed they received no prior notice or consultation. The hospital employs around 800 outsourced staff across departments. A separate order affecting 516 sanitary attendants has also raised concerns about job security among employees. Workers demanded clarity on employment status and the criteria for the termination list.
Employee Mukul Malviya expressed concern that abrupt job loss without warning would create financial hardship for families. Workers also alleged that money had been collected from them in exchange for employment promises. The protesting staff urged AIIMS management and the outsourcing agency to clarify their employment status and protect their livelihoods.
