Bhopal BMC Employee Booked After Attempting to Set Mayor's Vehicle on Fire

A Bhopal Municipal Corporation employee attempted to set Mayor Malti Rai's official vehicle ablaze on Monday afternoon at the BMC headquarters, Atal Bhawan. Sunil Gaikwad, associated with the corporation's garden section, allegedly set fire to book pages and threw the burning material onto the parked vehicle around 2:40 pm.
A security guard, Ramsingh Yadav, sustained hand burns while removing the burning material from the Mayor's car. The BMC commissioner directed filing of an FIR against Gaikwad. According to officials, Gaikwad was aggrieved over his employment status and absence from duty, and had claimed his child was expelled from school due to the corporation not making him permanent.
