Akhilesh Yadav Files Complaint Against CM Yogi Over Model Code Violation

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has filed a complaint with the Election Commission, alleging that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath violated the Model Code of Conduct. The move reflects growing political tensions between the ruling BJP and opposition parties as preparations for the 2027 state Assembly elections intensify.
Yadav has recently criticised the Election Commission's functioning and called for greater scrutiny of electoral decisions. Meanwhile, the SP chief has been campaigning actively, launching the party's PDA Rath Yatra from Raebareli and reaffirming the SP's alliance with Congress, with seat-sharing to be determined by electoral prospects of candidates.
The complaint is expected to form part of broader political discourse on official conduct and election-related activities in Uttar Pradesh. The Election Commission's response will shape the next phase of this matter.
