Apple prices fall sharply as farmers rush early harvest

Apple prices have fallen significantly in recent weeks as farmers accelerate harvesting ahead of the season's peak. A 15-16 kg carton that fetched ₹1,100-1,700 a few weeks ago now sells for ₹700-1,000, marking a steep decline.
Farmers attribute the early harvesting to initial good prices, prompting them to pick apples before full maturation. The rush to market has flooded supplies, triggering the price correction across major apple-growing regions.
