APSEZ doubles Colombo terminal capacity to 3.2 million TEUs

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has expanded its container terminal at the Port of Colombo to a capacity of 3.2 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), following a $750 million investment. The expanded facility is now positioned to handle nearly a quarter of the Port of Colombo's target capacity of 13 million TEUs by 2028.
The upgrade strengthens APSEZ's operational footprint in South Asia's key shipping hub. The terminal expansion aligns with regional growth in container traffic and enhances connectivity across Indian Ocean trade routes.
