Bagh Caves villagers demand paved road, better amenities

Villagers near the historic Bagh Caves in Madhya Pradesh have demanded construction of a paved road and improved basic amenities, citing poor connectivity that hampers daily life and access to the heritage site. Currently, there is no proper paved road from Bagheshwari Temple towards the Buddhist caves and nearby settlements. During the monsoon season, the route becomes muddy with potholes, making movement difficult.
Residents face severe challenges including inadequate health facilities, clean drinking water and electricity access. Ambulances cannot reach some settlements during emergencies due to poor road conditions, forcing families to carry patients to the main road. Tourists, researchers and devotees visiting the caves and religious sites also encounter difficulties. Despite repeated requests to the administration and public representatives, the issue remains unresolved.
