BECC chief directs officials to find permanent solutions to water stagnation

The Additional Commissioner of Bengaluru East City Corporation, Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar, has directed officials to take immediate action to prevent rainwater stagnation and ensure proper water flow in drains across low-lying areas. During a visit to rain-affected localities on Monday, he instructed officials to clear silt and mud from the Panathur S-Cross railway underpass and maintain functional water-pumping systems.
At the B-Smile buffer road area, Snehal asked for new drains to be constructed to prevent waterlogging during rains. At Munnekollalu, officials were ordered to clear drain obstructions to ensure smooth rainwater flow. The additional commissioner also directed officials to maintain proper road connectivity and address resident concerns about ongoing drain work, including identifying alternative routes during construction.
