Bengaluru Authority Chief Orders Crackdown on Illegal Constructions in Domlur

Greater Bengaluru Authority Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to take strict action against illegal constructions in the Domlur area following an inspection of sites under Bengaluru Central City Corporation limits. During the inspection, Rao found a newly constructed building that had been erected without mandatory setbacks on all four sides. He ordered officials to issue a notice to the owner and initiate demolition proceedings.
Rao also instructed officials to disconnect electricity supply to a commercial building in the same locality that was allegedly constructed without required setbacks. Additionally, he directed improvements to pedestrian infrastructure along Domlur Main Road, including examination of feasibility for a vending zone or parking facility and removal of walls obstructing foot traffic.
Rao ordered development of Domlur Junction, repair of damaged roads, restoration of areas dug up by the water board, and completion of the Wind Tunnel underpass project by end-November. He also inspected the Kodihalli Primary Health Centre and directed provision of a separate biomedical waste room and installation of CCTV cameras.
