Heavy rains cause waterlogging, traffic disruptions across Bengaluru

Heavy rains lashing Bengaluru on Monday evening led to waterlogging at several spots, causing significant traffic congestion across the city. Major traffic pile-ups were reported on B Narayanapura Main Road, Marathahalli, Kadubeesanahalli, Varthur Kodi, Krishnarajapuram Outer Ring Road, SJP Road, Mahatma Gandhi Road, and Queen's Road.
The Bengaluru Traffic Police confirmed that traffic flow in and around Whitefield was severely affected due to the downpour. The BGS Flyover in Chamarajpet saw particularly severe waterlogging, hampering vehicular movement. Traffic personnel were deployed to clear clogged drainage inlets to ease the situation. The police advised commuters to use alternative routes during the period.
