Bhopal gears up for Ganesh Visarjan 2026 with 30 collection stalls, 180 divers deployed

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation has made extensive preparations for Ganesh Visarjan 2026 ahead of Anant Chaturdashi on September 25. The civic body has set up nearly 30 Ganpati idol collection centres across the city, allowing devotees to hand over idols after rituals for collective immersion.
Authorities have deployed 180 trained divers, 12 cranes, and 12 Poclain machines at seven major immersion ghats, including Khatlapura Ghat, Prempura Ghat, Rani Kamlapati Ghat, Bairagarh Ghat, and Shahpura Ghat. All personnel are equipped with safety gear including life jackets, lifebuoys, and rescue equipment.
Bhopal Police and the Municipal Corporation have prepared a detailed security plan to ensure devotee safety. Devotees will not be permitted to enter water directly; trained personnel will conduct all idol immersions. Thousands of devotees are expected to participate, making crowd management and traffic control key priorities.
