Bhopal Retired IAS Officer Murder Case Leads Police To Delhi; ₹5 Crore Financial Disputes Under Scrutiny

Police investigating the murder of retired IAS officer Rakesh Agrawal have traced the primary suspect, Varun Kumar, to Delhi after he was spotted at Agra railway station. Facial recognition technology helped identify him, prompting a manhunt across state lines. A reward of ₹50,000 has been announced for his arrest.
Investigators are intensifying their financial probe into Agrawal's affairs, examining bank statements, property records, and transaction patterns over the past year. The focus is on identifying unusual withdrawals or transfers in the days preceding his death.
Two major financial disputes have emerged during the investigation—one involving ₹1 crore and another ₹4 crore. Police are examining associated individuals and companies, though no direct link to the murder has been established yet.
