Bhopal Police To Deploy 56 Cyber Specialists At Stations For Faster Fraud Probes

Bhopal police will deploy 56 specialised cyber personnel across city police stations to strengthen cybercrime investigations and provide faster assistance to victims. The deployment is based on the volume of cybercrime complaints registered through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at individual stations.
Police have categorised stations into three tiers based on complaint volume. Twelve A-category stations, each recording over 500 complaints, will receive six cyber specialists each. These include Ashoka Garden, Kamla Nagar, Shahpura, Habibganj, Awadhpuri, Govindpura, Piplani, Bagsewania, Misrod, Koh-e-Fiza, Kolar and Nishatpura.
The cyber personnel will assist investigating officers with technical aspects of cases, including tracing digital transactions, analysing online activities, identifying suspects, and recovering stolen funds. Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar said the decision responds to rising cybercrime complaints and aims to improve investigation quality, case disposal speed, and victim support.
