Private Hospitals in Bhopal Protest Ayushman Payment Delays, NABH Certification Demand

Doctors from private hospitals empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat scheme staged a protest in Bhopal on Wednesday, demanding immediate clearance of outstanding payments and withdrawal of mandatory NABH certification requirements. The United Private Hospitals and Diagnostic Association (UPHDA) led the demonstration at the Ayushman scheme office.
UPHDA vice president Dr Dhananjay Mishra stated that hospitals had not received payments for five to six months, creating financial strain on their operations and ability to pay vendors and staff. Hospitals also claim they received information about potential de-empanelment from the scheme effective October 1 for facilities in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior that lack NABH certification, though no official list has been made public.
