BJD may approach SC if Odisha assembly doesn't oppose MMDR amendments: Pratap Jena

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has threatened to move the Supreme Court if the Odisha assembly fails to pass a resolution opposing amendments to the Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation (MMDR) Act, said party leader Pratap Jena.
Jena stated that the party is seeking an immediate discussion in the Odisha assembly followed by the passage of a resolution against the proposed MMDR amendments. The BJD views the amendments as a matter of concern for the state's mineral resources and interests.
