Chandrashekhar Tiwari Appointed BJP Organisational General Secretary for Madhya Pradesh

The Bharatiya Janata Party appointed Chandrashekhar Tiwari as organisational general secretary of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. The position had remained vacant for eight months following Hitanand Sharma's departure to the RSS. Tiwari, who originally hails from Banda district in Uttar Pradesh, joined the BJP from the RSS in 2013 and previously held the same organisational role in Rajasthan and Telangana.
As part of broader party reorganisation, the BJP also appointed Ajay Jamwal, the regional organisational general secretary of MP and Chhattisgarh, as the state organisational general secretary of Maharashtra. National co-organisational general secretary Shiv Prakash continues overseeing MP affairs. The appointments come as the RSS has not seconded any Pracharaks to the BJP in the past five years, prompting the party to promote leaders with prior experience in other states.
