BJP Dimapur seeks roles for 6 councillors in municipal council

The BJP Dimapur unit has backed its six councillors who expressed disappointment over being excluded from the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC). Party president V Shekishe Achumi said the party stands with its elected representatives and has been pursuing the matter with state and central leadership.
State BJP president Benjamin Yepthomi has taken up the issue with chief minister Neiphiu Rio and central party leadership, while BJP Legislature Party leader and deputy chief minister Y Patton has also lobbied the chief minister. Shekishe alleged that the authority managing the DMC arrangement was blocking BJP councillors despite repeated efforts.
Shekishe accused the NPF, the ruling alliance partner, of deliberately denying BJP councillors their functional roles and called on NPF leadership to address the issue.
