BJP Launches Early Mission 2027 In Uttar Pradesh, Focus Shifts To 61 Long-Lost Assembly Seats

The Bharatiya Janata Party has begun aggressive groundwork for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, signalling an early election push as the party shifts focus towards rebuilding its organisational strength in constituencies where it has struggled for over a decade.
Soon after the recent expansion of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s cabinet, the BJP has now activated its election machinery at the grassroots level, with special attention on 61 assembly seats where the party has failed to secure victory in the last three consecutive Assembly polls.
According to party insiders, the initial phase of the campaign strategy will centre on collecting detailed political and social data from these difficult constituencies, including caste equations, booth-level performance and voter feedback.
Sources said Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Pankaj Chaudhary has instructed party leaders and district units to prioritise these politically challenging seats while preparing constituency-wise strategies ahead of the high-stakes 2027 battle.
A major chunk of these constituencies is concentrated in eastern Uttar Pradesh, particularly in districts such as Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ghazipur and Mirzapur, where the BJP has historically faced stiff resistance from regional parties.
Several seats in western Uttar Pradesh, including areas in Saharanpur, Moradabad and Bijnor, have also been identified as politically sensitive zones requiring focused outreach and stronger booth management.
Party leaders believe recent bypoll victories in areas once considered difficult terrain have boosted confidence within the organisation and strengthened hopes of improving the BJP’s performance in these regions before the next Assembly elections.
The BJP has simultaneously intensified its booth-level mobilisation campaign across Uttar Pradesh. Workers have been asked to strengthen contact with beneficiaries of central and state welfare schemes while regularly conducting outreach programmes in villages and urban wards.
Under the new strategy, booth workers will directly visit households to assess whether citizens are receiving benefits under government welfare initiatives and gather local grievances that can be addressed before the elections.
The party has also instructed cadres to organise meetings following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly “Mann Ki Baat” programme and provide regular political feedback to the leadership.
Political observers believe the BJP’s early preparations indicate the party wants to consolidate its organisational network well in advance to counter the opposition’s caste-based and regional social alliances in Uttar Pradesh.
Sources further indicated that the BJP could undertake a major internal restructuring across regional units and frontal organisations in the coming months as part of its broader Mission 2027 strategy.
