BJP's 2 members outsmart Congress in Rajasthan municipality chair election

In Rajasthan's Nohar municipality, an Independent candidate who won her own ward became the deciding factor in a closely contested chairperson election. Hajan Khatoon Tak, who secured victory in her ward, was approached by the BJP and voted as chairperson after the initial vote between major contenders ended in a 20-20 deadlock.
The BJP, despite fielding only 2 members in the municipality, managed to secure the chairperson post by winning Tak's support. The election outcome highlights how individual ward winners outside major party structures can tip the balance in local body contests.
