Man Murders Friend With Axe Over Alcohol Debt in Indore

A man was arrested in Indore after allegedly murdering his friend with an axe while he slept on a pavement in the Transport Nagar area on Thursday morning. The incident followed a dispute over borrowed money for alcohol. Police caught the suspect, identified as Bunty from Barani district, while he was still wearing blood-stained clothes.

The victim, 50-year-old Swarndeep alias Goldie, was a resident of the Dwarkapuri area who had left home six years ago after a divorce. He and Bunty both worked night shifts as manual labourers and truck guards in the same locality and regularly drank together. According to police, an argument erupted the previous evening over the unpaid debt. Bunty allegedly confessed that he retrieved an axe from a nearby scrap shop around 1:00 am and struck Goldie on the head while he slept.
