Bypolls voting underway across six seats in four states

Bypolls are being held today across six assembly seats spread over West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, and Puducherry. These seats were vacated after sitting legislators resigned following the April 2024 Lok Sabha and assembly elections. Several leaders who had contested from multiple constituencies retained one seat, leading to the vacancy of the others.

The bypoll elections are part of the routine democratic process to fill vacant legislative positions across different states.
