Calicut FC Footballer Rijohn Jose Dies in Kozhikode Road Accident

Rijohn Jose, a 29-year-old footballer from Thrissur, died following a road accident near Christian College on Gandhi Road in Kozhikode late Sunday night. The collision involved two motorcycles on the Gandhi Road flyover around 10:30 pm. Despite being rushed to Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital, Jose succumbed to his injuries at approximately 12:15 am.

Jose had represented several domestic clubs including FC Deccan, Wayanad United and George Telegraph before joining Calicut FC. He was part of the team's newly announced squad and had been training ahead of the upcoming Super League Kerala season. His teammate Gani Ahmed Nigam, a Santosh Trophy player, sustained serious injuries in the accident and remains under treatment at the medical college hospital.

The Kerala Football Association expressed condolences to Jose's family, teammates and Calicut FC, calling his death a tragic loss to the football community.
