Four foot overbridges at Masjid, Matunga stations to shut during Ganeshotsav

Ahead of the 12-day Ganpati festival, the Central Railway will close four foot overbridges (FOBs) at Masjid and Matunga stations in Mumbai. The decision follows structural audits by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B), which found the overbridges unsafe and recommended their immediate closure to pedestrian traffic.

The closures come as passenger and pedestrian movement across the city is expected to surge during the festival period. The safety measure aims to prevent potential incidents at the identified locations.
