Lhomithi Baptist Church conducts cleanliness drive at Dimapur Supermarket

More than 120 members of Lhomithi Baptist Church participated in a cleanliness drive at the Supermarket area in Dimapur on Friday morning. The initiative, organised in coordination with multiple church departments and local groups, aimed to raise awareness on cleanliness and encourage community service aligned with faith values.
During the drive, participants cleared dense weeds, overgrown vegetation, and debris along roadsides and drainage channels. Members also identified infrastructure issues including broken slabs, open drains, potholes and damaged pathways that pose pedestrian risks. Pastor Toluho Chishi said the church chose this stretch after identifying several areas requiring attention and stressed that faith should translate into practical community service.
Pastor Chishi noted that while the church cannot clean every part of town, it aims to contribute wherever possible. He called for intervention by municipal authorities to repair damaged sections. The church plans to organise similar cleanliness drives once or twice yearly, with the Dimapur Municipal Council assisting in waste disposal.
