CII welcomes RoDTEP extension, seeks five-year policy horizon

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has welcomed the government's extension of the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme. The industry body has also urged policymakers to provide a five-year policy horizon to give exporters greater certainty for medium-term planning.

The support comes as India's merchandise exports showed robust growth during April-August of the current fiscal year. The government is targeting $1 trillion in exports for the full fiscal year.

CII's backing reflects the scheme's importance in supporting India's export competitiveness and the industry's need for stable, forward-looking trade policy frameworks.
