India must tap FTAs and export missions to boost shipments: CII

The Confederation of Indian Industry has called on Indian businesses to make fuller use of free trade agreements and government export promotion missions to accelerate international sales growth.
Recent data indicates that India's merchandise exports have risen substantially over the preceding twelve months, demonstrating underlying momentum in the sector. However, services exports have recorded a marginal decline, though cumulative performance remains ahead of the previous year's levels.
The CII's push comes as the government continues to strengthen India's export infrastructure and deepen bilateral and multilateral trade partnerships. Officials say coordinated efforts between industry and policymakers are essential to capitalise on existing trade frameworks and market opportunities.
