Cleric Surrenders in IAF Officer's Wife Forced Conversion Case in Nagpur

A cleric from Chhindwara district in Madhya Pradesh surrendered before Nagpur Police on Wednesday night in connection with an alleged forced conversion and rape case. The accused, Hazrat Maulana from Tamia village, was wanted for his involvement in the alleged forced conversion and nikah ceremony of a 24-year-old woman, former wife of an IAF officer.
Police had been conducting extensive searches for him over several days. Two other accused, Ayyaz Madare and Ameen Sheikh, are already in custody. The woman alleged that the accused spiked her drink at a hotel, recorded objectionable videos, and used them for blackmail and repeated sexual assault. She also accused them of demanding ₹300,000 and pressuring her religious conversion. The incident reportedly occurred a year ago but came to light after the victim informed her husband.
