Congress Accuses BJP of Deliberately Weakening OBC Quota Case in Madhya Pradesh

Congress state president Jitu Patwari accused the Madhya Pradesh BJP government of deliberately undermining the case for 27% reservation for Other Backward Classes, claiming it failed to present adequate evidence before the High Court. Patwari alleged the government never intended to implement the quota and deliberately submitted a weak report that could not withstand judicial scrutiny.
Addressing a joint press conference with Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar in Bhopal, Patwari said the government cheated not just OBCs but all sections of society. He announced that Congress would approach the Supreme Court to fight for quota implementation and bear all legal expenses.
Patwari also questioned the government's decision to engage lawyers despite an all-party meeting where Singhar had suggested Congress lawyers should be included in the legal team. The Congress leader criticized what he called the BJP's "politics of deception, power, fear, and intimidation," asserting that Congress stood for social justice and OBC rights.
