Congress gains strength in western UP with ex-MP Amir Alam's entry

The Congress party received a boost in western Uttar Pradesh with the induction of former MP Amir Alam and the son of a former MLA, along with members from AIMIM and AAP. Alam has built a strong presence across decades in the Muzaffarnagar-Shamli region, having worked across multiple political platforms during his career. The move is seen as significant for Congress as it strengthens its organisational base in the politically competitive belt.
