Congress Faces Major Setback As Pranav Jha Loses Rajya Sabha Race In Jharkhand

Congress suffered a significant blow in Jharkhand's Rajya Sabha elections as its candidate Pranav Jha unexpectedly lost despite being favored to win. NDA-backed independent candidate Parimal Nathwani and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) nominee Baidyanath Ram emerged victorious, securing one seat each for their respective groups.

The defeat raised questions about coordination within the ruling Mahagathbandhan alliance. Sources indicated that legislators from alliance partners, including the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and CPI(ML), may not have voted in complete unity. Three votes were held during counting before being declared invalid, according to Jharkhand Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore.
