Contractors need not pay politicians for works: Minister

Karnataka Minister V. Sampath Kumar said contractors are no longer required to make payments to politicians to secure government works. The minister's statement comes as part of efforts to promote transparency in the allocation of public projects.
Kumar's remarks suggest the government is working towards reducing corruption in the contracting process and ensuring that project assignments are based on merit and competitive bidding rather than unofficial payments.
