Gang lured men through dating apps, blackmailed with intimate videos at AMU hostel

A criminal gang has been accused of operating a blackmail scheme targeting young men in Aligarh. The gang allegedly used dating applications to identify and lure victims to a hostel on the Aligarh Muslim University campus. Once at the location, the victims were filmed in compromising situations.

The recorded videos were then used to extort money from the victims through blackmail. The modus operandi relied on the victims' vulnerability and reluctance to report the crimes due to the sensitive nature of the content.

Investigations into the racket are underway. Police are working to identify gang members and recover evidence related to the blackmail scheme.
