DDA audit reveals only 16 of 736 parks have CCTV cameras

A security audit of Delhi Development Authority parks has revealed critical gaps in surveillance infrastructure across the capital's public spaces. Only 16 out of 736 DDA parks are equipped with CCTV cameras, the audit found following heightened safety concerns triggered by a recent gangrape case involving a teenager.
The audit classified parks according to their risk profiles, identifying 190 parks as high-risk, 258 as medium-risk, and 288 as low-risk locations. Despite these risk assessments, the vast majority of parks remain without adequate surveillance systems, highlighting inadequate safety measures across DDA-managed public spaces in Delhi.
