Deendayal Port, Assam Petro-Chemicals lay foundation for ₹2,300-crore e-methanol plant

Deendayal Port Authority and Assam Petro-Chemicals have laid the foundation stone for a ₹2,300-crore e-methanol production facility in Gujarat. The project aims to supply cleaner fuel to the maritime sector as part of efforts to develop the port as a green-fuel and bunkering hub.
The venture aligns with India's push toward sustainable shipping and decarbonization of the marine industry. E-methanol, a carbon-neutral fuel, is increasingly adopted by shipping companies to meet environmental standards.
