Delhi tightens bus safety rules after Greater Noida gangrape

In response to the recent gangrape incident in Greater Noida, Delhi transport authorities have tightened safety regulations for buses operating in the region. Bus operators have been directed to keep sufficient interior lighting switched on while buses are in motion, ensuring that activities inside remain visible from outside.
The measure aims to deter criminal activity and improve passenger safety by eliminating dark spaces where incidents could occur undetected. Authorities have also prohibited the use of curtains or dark window coverings that could obstruct external visibility of the bus interior.
