Delhi excise department seeks applications to lower imported liquor prices following India-UK trade deal

The Delhi excise department has invited applications aimed at reducing prices of imported liquor following the India-UK trade agreement. The trade pact has reduced the aggregate effective customs duty on specified liquor imports from the UK from 150% to 75%, the department said.
The move is expected to make imported spirits more affordable for consumers in the capital. The lower duty structure provides scope for retailers and importers to adjust pricing accordingly.
