Delhi High Court orders removal of deepfake images; notices issued to CJP leaders

The Delhi High Court has ordered the removal of deepfake photographs of a woman. Justice Girish Kathpalia said this is not merely a case concerning one woman, but that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also involved. The court has issued notices to Cockroach Janta Party leaders Saurav Das, Abhijit Deepke, Ashutosh Ranka and Ratna Singh.
The woman alleged that CJP leaders had tampered with her photograph and combined her face with obscene deepfake images involving Prime Minister Modi. The woman has also been receiving death threats. The court has directed the Delhi Police to provide full security to the woman. The next hearing has been fixed for October 14.
