Delhi government to launch portal mapping student PGs, inspect 100 cases in three days

The Delhi government is set to launch a portal to map student paying guest (PG) accommodations across the city as part of a broader regulatory push. The initiative includes plans to conduct inspections of around 100 PG facilities within three days.
The move follows the Satya Niketan incident, which prompted authorities to tighten oversight of residential accommodations used by students. The High-Powered Committee (HPC) was established in response to establish comprehensive regulations governing PG facilities and hostels throughout Delhi.
The portal is designed to create a database of student housing options, improving transparency and enabling targeted enforcement of safety and hygiene standards. The inspection drive aims to identify violations and ensure compliance with prescribed norms across the sector.
