Delhi to mandate safety audits in PG hostels after building collapse

Following a building collapse incident, the Delhi government is planning to introduce a new safety policy and conduct structural audits across paying guest (PG) hostels in the capital. The move aims to improve safety standards in residential accommodations that house a large student and working population.
The administration is considering mandatory structural inspections and compliance checks for PG facilities. This comes as authorities seek to prevent similar incidents and ensure better safety protocols are in place across such establishments.
