Delhi's Toxic Air Plan: Can Higher Parking Fees Combat Smog?

Delhi is exploring higher parking fees as part of its strategy to reduce air pollution during smog season. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi last raised parking charges in November 2017, when fees were quadrupled to discourage vehicle use and reduce emissions.
The move aims to decrease traffic congestion and associated air quality degradation during Delhi's winter months when pollution levels spike significantly. Authorities believe pricing mechanisms can incentivize residents to use alternative transport methods.
