Cab cancellations, high e-rickshaw fares, barricades: Delhi protestors face hurdles reaching Jantar Mantar

Protestors attempting to reach Jantar Mantar in Delhi faced significant obstacles on Wednesday, including cancelled cab services, inflated e-rickshaw fares, and security barricades around the demonstration site.
Ride-hailing services were reportedly unavailable in several areas, forcing commuters to rely on e-rickshaws, which were charging rates as high as Rs. 100 per trip—substantially above normal fares. Multiple entry points leading to the protest venue were barricaded, creating congestion and delaying attendees.
The disruptions appeared to coincide with security operations in central Delhi. Organisers and participants expressed frustration over the access restrictions, which they said undermined their ability to stage an effective public demonstration. Authorities did not immediately clarify the reasons for the heightened security measures around the landmark protest location.
