Delhi University orders campus safety audits, seeks report by October 12

Delhi University has instructed all its affiliated colleges and departments to conduct comprehensive safety audits of their campuses, with a deadline of October 12 for submitting audit reports.
The exercise focuses on three key areas: identifying security blind spots on campus, ensuring prompt repair of non-functional street lights and fixtures, and installing or upgrading closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera systems in vulnerable zones.
The directive aims to strengthen campus security infrastructure across DU's sprawling network of institutions. Officials have asked academic heads to coordinate with their security and maintenance teams to complete the audits within the specified timeframe.
