Delhi University directs colleges to install CCTVs, improve lighting for women's safety

Delhi University has directed its affiliated colleges to take immediate steps to improve women's safety on campus by installing closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and fixing inadequate lighting in key areas.
The directive comes as part of the university's broader initiative to create a secure environment for female students and staff across all educational institutions under its purview.
Colleges have been asked to prioritize installation of surveillance systems in vulnerable zones and ensure all pathways, parking areas, and common spaces are adequately illuminated during evening hours. The measures aim to deter potential incidents and enable rapid response to any security concerns.
