Joint Colony Forum opposes unauthorized business body formation in Dimapur

The Joint Colony Forum (JCF) in Ward No. 20, Dimapur, has opposed the formation of an unauthorized business body. The forum, comprising six colony councils, filed a representation with the Deputy Commissioner against attempts to establish a "Business Owners Forum, Nagarjan" without proper approval.

According to the JCF, certain individuals circulated notices to form the new business organization without the knowledge or consent of the United Colony Council or competent authorities. The United Colony Council met the group on August 26 and informed them that no new business organization would be permitted without due approval and collective consent. A subsequent meeting on August 30 with shop owners and business proprietors unanimously rejected the proposal.

Despite this, the group continued activities and issued a press release on September 10. The JCF warned that such unauthorized bodies could create division among residents and result in parallel authority and confusion in local administration. A combined meeting of all six councils on September 11 reaffirmed that no new business body would be recognized without prior approval.
