Tobacco products destroyed in Dimapur enforcement drive

Tobacco products seized from retail outlets within 100 yards of educational institutions in Dimapur were destroyed during an enforcement operation. The activity was conducted in the presence of the National Tobacco Control team, ACP, local officials, and civil society groups including Tenyimia Women Hoho and Watsü Telongjem Dimapur Unit.
The drive was undertaken to enforce provisions of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), 2003, and to restrict student access to tobacco. Authorities aim to create tobacco-free environments around schools and educational facilities.
