GST return forms likely to be tweaked to curb mismatches

The government is considering a revamp of GST return forms aimed at reducing discrepancies between sales reported by taxpayers and the tax they pay.
Draft forms will be made available for public feedback starting November 1, giving businesses and other stakeholders an opportunity to comment before the changes are finalised.
The revised formats are scheduled to take effect on April 1, 2027.
