Economic Offences Wing Raids Jabalpur Municipal Official's Home Over Disproportionate Assets

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) raided the residence of Pola Rao, an Assistant Health Officer with the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation, on Tuesday morning. The action followed a complaint alleging he had acquired assets disproportionate to his known income sources. After a preliminary investigation, the agency secured a court-issued search warrant and executed the raid at around 5:30 am.
During the search, officials found documents indicating ownership of multiple properties including a residential flat, a plot in Jabalpur valued at approximately Rs 10,000 per square foot, and agricultural land in Andhra Pradesh. The team also examined bank accounts, insurance policies, investments, and financial records, uncovering evidence of cash savings schemes and committee-style investment plans.
Officials also assessed Rao's vehicle holdings, including one four-wheeler and four two-wheelers, including a Bullet motorcycle valued around Rs 5 lakh. Jewellery and electronic items found at the residence are under further examination.
