Escorts Kubota shares fall 6% on weak September sales; VST Tillers rally 5%
Escorts Kubota shares fell sharply on Thursday following a 16.7% year-on-year decline in September tractor sales. The company attributed the drop to a high base from the previous year, shifting festive season patterns, uneven monsoon conditions, and lower Kharif sowing activity.
In contrast, VST Tillers shares gained 5% after reporting a 33% jump in total sales for the same period. Brokerages remain optimistic about the sector's near-term prospects, citing expected rural demand recovery, festive season buying momentum, and improving liquidity conditions to support auto-sector volumes.
