European football leaders voice concerns to UEFA over four-game national team schedule

European football leaders have expressed dissatisfaction with UEFA over a four-game international schedule for national teams. The governing body plans to consolidate what were previously separate two-game breaks in September and October into a single 16-day block.
UEFA has indicated it will gather views from stakeholders before submitting a formal position to FIFA on the proposed fixture arrangement. The consolidated schedule aims to streamline international football windows but has drawn criticism from European football officials concerned about player workload and club disruptions.
