India's external pressures persist despite forex swap inflows, says Nageswaran
India's Chief Economic Advisor V Anantha Nageswaran has flagged ongoing balance of payments pressures even as the Reserve Bank of India's special forex swap window has drawn significant foreign currency inflows.
Nageswaran cautioned that these inflows represent a temporary measure rather than a durable fix for external sector challenges. Rising imports and intensifying global competition for capital pose risks to India's external account position.
